Zoya Marilyn – is a soft angelic baby pink with a unique frost-pearl finish to it. Of course the first thing aside from the colour that comes to mind is the name sake – to me – I think of Marilyn Monroe!! It’s such a sweet, soft baby pink and the pearl finish reminds me of old Hollywood glamour! I can envision seeing these iconic beautiful actresses in their time – applying their rouge lipstick and having such feminine nails. I just LOVE this time period – nothing will ever compare to that kind of glamour.
This polish was released in Zoya’s Spring Serendipity Collection 2007 and was one of my very first Zoya polishes (bought this specific bottle in 2010). Hence, my love affair with ZOYA polishes has been a long one! I love the soft baby pink pearl colour, something about it is so ultra-feminine and sweet – I can see this as a bridal nail polish for sure! It is also fantastic for work or as a year round polish – looks great with a tan and can compliment fingernails and toes. So I think if you’re looking for a Zoya polish to wear year round and you’re the girly-girl that you are, definitely pick up this one!
The application was decent – was opaque on three coats – I used a third coat to ensure I did not have any patches but you can get away with two semi-thick coats. The drying time was on average with Zoya polishes and I didn’t see a chip in this manicure for almost 3-4 days. I think it would have lasted longer but I usually change my polish every 3-4 days anyways.
For me, I like wearing it when I am doing a classic Kim Kardashian smokey eye and soft pink lips along with an edgy pair of black high heels!
